thyoung47 Posted January 23, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2009 My wife and I have booked our first river cruise on the Avalon Artistry from Amsterdam to Budapest (Magnificient Europe) in September 2009. I would like to hear from anyone who has taken this trip or has traveled on the Artistry in the recent past. In particular, I am interested in the laundry service, Internet access and cabin power (type and outlets), plus any recommendations for this trip itself. We will be taking this cruise following a two week Globus coach tour during which we are limited to one bag. As such, with 30+ days away from home, we are somewhat obsessed with packing, laundry, etc. Any tips, suggestions, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thx - Tom
webfoot Posted January 23, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2009 My review of this trip is found in this link: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=719041&highlight=magnificent+europe Internet access was through either two desktop computers or you could use the wireless internet with your own computer. Laundry: there was a sheet in the room that gave the prices for doing laundry. We were also on an extended trip. I only had one shirt pressed. But my clothing were all standing by themselves when we got home ... we did with one bag each when we took a Globus trip to Fiji/New Zealand/Australia/Hawaii and were gone for 32 days. You can do it ... remember, you probably won't see any of these people after the cruise, so if you wear clothes 3 or 4 or 5 times, only you will know ...:D You will need to have a plug adapter for your phone chargers, curling iron, etc. Most equipement these days automatically switches from one voltage to the other. Please let me know if you have any other questions. We loved our trip so much that we have booked another one for May.
