Hiring a driver...

Well we were going to rent a car in Coz before reading some of the terrible stories.. I dont want to ruin a good vacation by being extorted. So now we are thinking of hiring a driver... My question is how does that work and how much? Do they drive you around for the whole day? Any comments would be appreciated.

They drive you around as long as you want, usually $20 per hour. We paid $50 for a 3 hour tour in 2005. Make sure you negotiate the price before you start off. We bought our driver lunch. There are both taxis and tour guides, the tour guides are more informative. If you want to be taken to the eastside and left at a beach most taxi drivers are very good at showing back up at the agreed upon time.
