scubagirrl Posted January 25, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2009 Scubagirrl, or anyone with info... I would really like to visit The Plait Lady when I am in Nassau. Can you tell me how to get there from the dock? Will we need a taxi? The main store is just a few blocks east of the port on Bay Street and Victoria. Just go up one block to Bay Street, make a left and go up about 4 blocks.. There's a small shop at Marina Village (atlantis).. but the main store is really, really interesting. No taxi needed, unless, of course, you buy everything in the store and need to haul your goodies back the the ship.

scubagirrl Posted January 25, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 25, 2009 What is the plait lady? Authentic Bahamian Baskets, hats, bags mats, etc. Amazing work The most interesting object in the store is a straw water pitcher, so tightly coiled it's leak proof. The staff works from long coils of the woven goods ... creating custom-make straw items such as bags and photo albums for personalized, unforgettable souvenirs.
