doemichael Posted February 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2009 Our return flight leaves Barcelona at 10.50am . This was booked along with our cruise with RCI , what happens is there is a problem and we miss flight due to say ship being delayed or transport from ship getting us to airport to late to check in ? Has this happened to anyone and what would happen ? The airline we are fliying home with only have this one flight that day from Barcelona although other airlines have flights later that afternoon. thanks
mndity Posted February 1, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 1, 2009 It has not happened to me but my understanding is if they are aware of it they could delay leaving for a few hours or pay to have you meet the ship when it gets to its next port.... neeps Posted February 1, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 1, 2009 This happend to us when the Voyager was delayed docking due to fog. We had booked our air through Royal Carribean but they were unable to get us on any flights home until 2 days later. We got hotel accomodation only which they paid for direct but nothing towards food. Our extra expenses we can claim for on travel insurance although it did take almost 3 weeks and 4 phone calls to get the letter about the delay from Royal Carribean!!! Just make sure you have their number with you in cause you need it as if our experience was anything to go by you will not see anyone from Royal Carribean. It also has made us think about always travelling back the day after a cruise in future - just have to find next new year's cruise!!!!!

We were not given a choice if when to fly, RCI just booked the flights for the day cruise leaves and returns. I wish we ahd arranged our flights ourselves but not going to try and change it now lol Our TA siad if there was a problem RCI would sort out another flight and hotel if there was a problem , just have to hope there is not lol
