Rough Seas in August?

I am sailing the Caribbean Princess in August 2009 out of NY. Kind of late to ask...but are the seas really rough heading up north? I've travelled out of NY to the caribbean and found the Atlantic to be more rough than the Caribbean.

Rosco,

Well, our northern Atlantic will never be Caribbean-calm. Butttt, August is typically a time of sunny, warm weather in New England and not many storms that churn up the water. It's the BIG boating time here in the Boston area --- and it's likely the water will be as calm as it ever is throughout the year.

I wonder if your Caribbean sailing out of NY was during the winter? If so, not surprised that the Atlantic was a little rough.

Happy Planning!

Lynne
