Anyone done the jungle river cruise tour?

Hi, we are going to Puntenaras Costa Rica. We have booked a tour from Celebrity Mercury, for the jungle river cruise. Just wondering if anyone has done this & was it good?

We did one with Charlie Soto and his Okeydokey Tours about 3 weeks ago on the Tarcoles River and we quite enjoyed it. There are several operators on the river, the one he used was Crocodile Man Jungle Boat Tours.

Thanks, I think that might be the one we are going on, it sounded good. Did you notice any mosquitoes? Is there shopping near the port?

Yes there were a just a few mosquitos, we took some 100% DEET that we purchased at WalMart... Costa Rica was the only place that we used it or saw any mosquitos. Yes there is a large number of vedor boths adjacent to the pier... look at some of the wood products, there were some beautiful cutting boards. We bought some lovely sundresses for our young grandaughters but did even better in Nicaragua.:)

I went on a river cruise and saw monkeys and crocodiles up close. It was great!
