Head to Gladys' in Royal Dane Mall. It's in an alley off the main street of Charlotte Amalie (close to the shopping area, of course :p).

The 19th Hole - enter off main street at the back of Star Jewelers. It's not an enclosed bar, just a counter inside the door, but Gene makes great bushwackers!!

 

Gladys' has great food at reasonable prices, too.

Many of the stores will offer you a beer if you show any interest in their stuff (mostly jewellry stores). Last time we arrived downtown around 9:15 and I had 3 beer in me by 10:30. :D

Depends on whether you want to drink indoors or out. The islands purported largest bar is the one in Palm Passage. It's outdoors, and you can see the Waterfront if you're sitting in certain seats. Drinks may cost a little more here than some other places.

 

The Big Kahuna Rum Shack has indoor and outdoor seating on the Waterfront. Used to be Hungry Buzzard.

 

The Harbor Bar in Drake's Passage is another outdoor bar with water view. It's small, and seems to have a loyal, local crowd. I think some "pirates" hang out there.

 

For something really different, go to Hotel 1829's bar on the terrace. They're not always open, though.

we always go to coconuts bar & grill behind imperial jewelers on main street. good food, cold beer, great staff and owners - can't go wrong.
