Xunantunich - Guided Tour?

My DD and I will be going to both Cozumel and Belize in May on the Carnival Legend. The description for the Tulum (Ultramar) in Cozumel says "your bilingual guide will escort you on a 45-minute narrated tour of the walled Mayan city of Tulum."

 

But the description for Xunantunich in Belize just says 'Wander through the introductory site history and display center found at the entrance.' Is there not a tour guide at this location?

 

We are interested in a guided tour for part of the time we are there. We had other plans in Cozumel, so were hoping to see a Mayan ruin in Belize.

 

Has anyone been to both of them?

We were at Xunantunich 3 weeks ago and took the tour offered by the ship and ahd an excellent guide. There are no guides for hire at the site. I suggest you book on board or at Belize City upon arrival.

Sirdar, were you on a Carnival ship? I wonder if the tours are different on each cruiseline. If they are the same, if I book the Xunantunich tour through the cruise ship, this includes a guide at the site? That is what we are looking for.
