Which is better? Ruins in Belize, Scuba in Cozumel or opposite?

We're cruising on Carnival Glory in March.

 

I'm leaning toward a Lamanai tour in Belize and a two-tank dive in Cozumel.

 

Would it be better to do a ruins tour in Cozumel and plan a dive in Belize?

Unless you take a tour over to the mainland from Coz to go to Tulum, the ruins on Coz are not much to see. We were there in August.

 

People here rant & rave about the Lam excursion in Belize; we're going to Lam in April. But I've also heard good things about the reefs in Belize.

 

If it were me, I would do Lam in Belize & scuba in Coz (but I'm not a diver & I've never been to Lam, lol). Then I'd book another cruise so I could scuba in Belize, hee-hee.

I'm one of the ones who raves about the ruins at Lamanai. It's for real. Belize does have a very long reef with good snorkeling, but Cozumel has nothing like the giant temples.

Scuba in Cozumel is wonderful. Many good companies, stay away from Dive Paradise though. They left us in the water on a night dive, finally the boat returned after we had been swimming back to shore for over 20 minutes. Never will I be left, and I have heard even worse stories about Apple (the owner of Dive Paradise) since. I have not dove in Belize yet so I don't know how they compare.
