I now have permisssion from the DW to book my second cruise and her seventh. My first was last May on the Mariner of the Seas. She has been on Carnival several times and wants me to compare but I dont know where to start. The only thing I am sure of is that we do not want to do the eastern carib. again...at least not yet...still to many other ports to see. Any help ....suggestions...guidance witll be appreciate.

Thanks:D

Since you've done the Eastern Caribbean, you might want to give the Southern or Western Caribbean a try. Or maybe even a Bahamas Cruise. If you like the size of the Mariner of the Seas, you might like the Conquest Class of Ships. There is always the Spirit Class to consider as well but its smaller than the Conquest Class of Ships. I happen to like the Valor, I've been on it twice and it has a nice Western Itinearary out of Miami going to: Cozumel, Mexico; Roatan Island in Honduras; Grand Caymen Island and Belize. I'm sure others will respond and give you their insights as well. Whatever you choose, Enjoy!

I love the Western Iten, and we loved the Legend out of Tampa - much easier airport to get in and out of as well as cruise terminal...That get's my vote!:)

I 2nd the vote for the Legend out of Tampa. I have yet to get my butt on this ship/intenirary.

The Spirit class ships get great reviews and the Western Caribbean will be entirely new to you!

Looks like you are from Chicago? Probably can get decent airfare on Southwest, too!

Well we love to sit on the beach or the deck and soak up the sun. We dont do much shopping while in port. Basically we like to kick back and have a good time with not much pressure or things to do. We really value our vacation time and use it re-charge. I hit the casino a bit but not to much because she is not much of a player. We were thinking of trying the Carnival Dream. Our next cruise will be for her birthday in May of 2010
