Finding a guide at the pier (no prior planning)

has anybody just gotten off the ship and used any of the guides waiting at the pier without making a reservation? how much did you pay, and how was the trip? i am mainly looking for the stingray excursion. we used nativeways a couple years ago, and they were awesome. but i'm taking all the kids this trip, and i just want to get them out to stingray city the most economical way that i can. i remeber seeing guides at the pier offering sting rays, but i cant remember the costs, and i also wonder how risky that would be? so does anybody have ny experience with this?

thank you,

mike

Hi, we just did a tour with the kids using stingraysailing.com. It was great. Chip the captain is very nice. They only take a maximum of 25 people on thier catamaran and there's no minimum. So no crowded boat like most tours. The price was good for a 3.5 hour tour $45.00 Per person 13 years and older, $30 per person 5 to 12 years, no charge under 5 years.

After Chip can drop you off at the 7 mile beach.

Our kids really enjoyed this tour.....a great experience

Hope this helps you and if you have any other question just ask..

I just looked at their website, looks like a good excursion. I do have one question...how was the snorkeling at the reef? 6-8 feet of water seems kind of shallow. Did you see lots of fish, etc.?
