bjcourt Posted February 8, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2009 My wife and I will be in LaHavre on May 10 on the Emerald Princess, and want to catch a train to Paris from there! I'm having trouble finding the right schedule, as I put Gare Du Havre to Paris St Lazare, and it doesn't recognize these locations! I don't know what to do! Thanks for whatever help! Rare HeinBloed Posted February 8, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2009 My wife and I will be in LaHavre on May 10 on the Emerald Princess, and want to catch a train to Paris from there! I'm having trouble finding the right schedule, as I put Gare Du Havre to Paris St Lazare, and it doesn't recognize these locations! I don't know what to do! Thanks for whatever help! Let's try to help you: First we need the exact time you are in: http://www.lehavretourisme.com/Le_Havre_Escales_Paquebots_2009.pdf looks like 05.30 am to 7 pm on a Sunday... Let's try to find a suitable train connection: Le Havre dep 8.03 #3108 Paris St Lazare arr 10.10 Paris St Lazare dep 14.50 #3115 Le Havre arr 16.55 Source: http://www.bahn.de/international/view/en/index.shtml It's German Railways - normally the Central European Database for the reservation system. But I am confused myself so I do have the impression that French Railways SNCF is working on their database and that's why only the very few connections appear at the moment. Their own websites: in French for French customers: http://www.voyages-sncf.com in multiple languages incl. English for international customers: http://www.tgv-europe.com --- Now the French version works again. It seems to be that German Railways is right. All other connections are transfer connections which do not make too many sense. --- Go on http://www.voyages-sncf.com and enter it like I did: Click on "Horaires seuls" (schedules only) The first connection is the earliest connection of the day (Sunday) - but it does not make too many sense as you have an transfer in Rouen to a TGV train but will not arrive earlier than with the second connection. Click on "Valider cet aller" (Confirm this outward journey). To catch you ship you need to return already at 14.50 hrs. Click on "Valider ce retour" (Confirm your return journey) Without having an idea how old you are: Nombre de passagers = Number of passengers Code Offre Speciale = Special Offer Code (I doubt that you have one) 26-59 ans = age rank of 26-59 = select your suitable carte et abonnement = passes and subscriptions = I do not think that will apply Carte de Fidelité = Frequent Traveller = I do not think that this will apply either 2e class = 2nd class 1e class = 1st class Personnel = Private travel Professionnel = Business travel FRANCE = France = ticket collection in France ETATS UNIS = USA = ticket collection in the US - try both to see if any price varies... Click on "Rechercher" (= search) Now it's clear what happened: You are too fast and too early... try it again on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 when they start with their ticket sales. Try it first on http://www.tgv-europe.com If it does not work on the French website http://www.voyages-sncf.com If you still need help: my e-mail-address is in my signature. Bon voyages and have a great day in Paris. Regards, HeinBloed
