freddiebud Posted November 19, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 19, 2004 I am claustrophobic and have a question about tubing. Are you in the caves for a long while? Or in a cave, out in the open, in another cave, etc.? When you are in the cave, is everything close to you or is there quite a bit of room? And do they give you head lamps or is there light? Thanks for your help. I really would like to do this, just need to mentally prepare.
cruisinhs Posted November 19, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 19, 2004 You are in the caves for a while, however, they are huge! Unless the dark bothers you, you should be fine. You do have head lamps because they are points where there is no outside light. You will have just as much space around you as you would sitting in the middle of your bedroom. And with everyone in the group wearing head lamps, you can see around a little.
Cary T Posted November 19, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 19, 2004 You are in the cave for about an hour and you wear a lamp on your head. The only time I can think you might consider claustrophobic is when they have you turn off your lights to see how dark it is but the caves are really large and wide inside. My wife was concerned about this excursion but now thinks it was one of her favorites.
freddiebud Posted November 19, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted November 19, 2004 Thanks for your responses. I've done cave tours like Mammoth, so I am okay as long as I can see other folks and have room to breathe. And know it eventually ends!!
