scchasgal Posted February 8, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Welcome back sounds like the weather was on your side. As you probably know it is hit or miss in Jan and Feb in the upper Carribean. Anything in your trip that stood out as fabulous? We are sailing on her beginning of May in an AB.
buckeyefrank Posted February 8, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2009 DW and I are going in April as well. We are really excited to see GSC and can't wait to explore the island. We're a little nervous and will be really disappointed if we can't go because of the wind. I'm hoping you had a good time, Buckeyefrank

scchasgal Posted February 8, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Any questions? We did go to the private island and it was 80 degrees! There is another post that just arrived about the same trip. Since you didn't say anything about cold water in the showers and the other things they complained about I am assuming they are whiners.

dave&micki Posted February 8, 2009 #8 Share Posted February 8, 2009 I am leaving on 2/21/09 for the Majesty and I as well do have a few questions. I love to gamble to these are mainly about the casino: 1. What is the minimum bet allowed at the table games $5.00 or $10.00 2. Did you play bingo and if so, how much did it cost and what were the prizes? 3. How was the food in the dining room 4. Was the weather nice all around or in the 80's just one day? Iknow it's been cold here in SC Thank you in advance for any questions you can answer. Micki
CruisnGram Posted February 8, 2009 #9 Share Posted February 8, 2009 how was the food???? Don't know much about NCL....is shellfish served, ie: crab legs etc on this ship???? brockmom No crablegs in NCL's main dining room. You have to go to a speciality restaurant to get those. And there is an additional charge. CG
gregg1704 Posted February 8, 2009 #10 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Do you recommend any excursions? This will be my first trip to the Bahamas and on NCL so anything else you can add would be helpful.

hospvol Posted February 8, 2009 Author #12 Share Posted February 8, 2009 The weather on the private island was beautiful and we were able to find a spot for ourselves and another couple. Not so crowded that you felt shut in. One lady with a walker even walked over to the lighthouse, but they bought her back in a golf cart. Except for the one warm day, the others were quite chilly. However, we met so many nice people that the trip was quite enjoyable. We had an AB suite(915) and loved it. We did have trouble with no hot water one time, but we called about it and it was fixed within 15 minutes. If you have an AB suite be sure to take advantage of the LeBistro for breakfast and lunch. What service!! I was disappointed that there were no crab legs in the dining room. However, aside from that the food was enjoyable(no, not perfect.) Since we were staying in a suite, we were able to take our own bags off the ship and we were off by 8 a.m. Customs was a breeze since we were first off. The ship is still well maintained considering her age. The help was more than gracious. Florentina is a wonderful concierge. However, she is going home at the end of February and will be off for 2-1/2 months. She is going home to be with her 10 month old twin boys. Hey you had our old cabin LOL You can thanks us for the new carpet that was installed there last year. Someone on the previous cruise to us had thrown up and the smell did not come out of the carpet. We mentionned it and bam they installed new carpeting throughout the suite.
