jimgev Posted February 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2009 Does anyone know the relative costs of bottles of wine purchased in Hawaii as opposed to purchased in California? We will be on a circle Hawaii cruise and would just as soon "re-stock" in Hawaii rather than bringing it all aboard at the initial embarkation. I expect that it will be somewhat more expensive in Hawaii but would like to know if the increase is large enough to pursuade me to bring the whole load aboard in San Diego. san diego sue Posted February 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2009 Hi, we were there on a cruise in December. In Hilo, we took the free shuttle to Walmart. Across the street is a big mall, . On the far end is a Longs Drug store. The best place to purchase wines. Same prices as in California. Well stocked with great selections. We bought three bottles. Average cost about $6.00-8.00. Same prices as Longs here at home. They have more premium wines as well. so if you are into very good wines, they had everything. We bought Mondavi, an Italian wine, and also an Australian wine. All very good. There was also a Wine store next door to Hilo Hatti's , which is near walmart. Best bet is the Long's drugs store. Also Souvenirs there were really inexpensive as well.
