oooohDonna Posted February 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2009 MCO to Canaveral. Have looked over all the info on here. Tried booking with Budget, Avis, Hertz and even used one of the codes listed and my ONE day rental prices are coming up over $70! What am I doing wrong? Thanks! clerky96 Posted February 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2009 I don't think that you are doing anything wrong. It is possibly that Orlando is more expensive than some places. I usually rent cars from carrentals.com. They give you a list of all the cars/car agencies, cheapest to most expensive. We could have rented a car for one day on Feb 6th for $28 total, but decided we didn't want to drive in Miami. I have been on this website when there are days that the cars are much more expensive than on other days. I don't know what constitutes these differences except maybe demand is greater on some days than on others. Anyway, give them a look. Just be sure you put the "s" on rentals or you will get a different website. I have rented from them before and had no problems. You don't have to pay until you pick up the car. BTW, went to the website and it looks like renting a car from MCO to Canaveral is pretty expensive.
eandj Posted February 10, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2009 Rates are not cheap in Florida. Keep looking tho. Sounds like you are looking at more than a compact. Are you doing a one way? Those can be a lot more money and be less available too.

I'm sure it does depend on time of year too and we are looking at week before Easter, so that is probably why. I was looking at mid size cars i think, but thanks for the input!! :D I will check out the carrentals.com site, thanks!
elah Posted February 11, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2009 I just rented a full size car (impala) from avis the week before Easter for about $56 one day from avis. Try using AWD: d4540000. This is the code from rentalcarmomma website that anyone can use.
cdm1593 Posted February 11, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 11, 2009 The car rentals out of Orlando do change prices from day to day, in October I rented a compact from Enterprise to Port Canaveral for $32, for March it is going to cost me $80 for the same exact rental.
