Tangocherie Posted February 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2009 I've read conflicting reports on what you can obtain with a Fountain Fun Card. Some posts suggest, aside from Coke products, you can also get juice from the bar as well as Virgin Cesars. Is this correct? Can you also obtain other non alcoholic mixed drinks such as a virgin pina colada?
I Am Canadian, Eh Posted February 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2009 I've read conflicting reports on what you can obtain with a Fountain Fun Card. Can you also obtain other non alcoholic mixed drinks such as a virgin pina colada? Juices yes. Never tried for a virgin caesar (I guess you could make an arguement its essentially just Clamato juice - I'll have to ask next time ). Pina coladas, daqs, etc are definitely NOT included. 63Corvette Posted February 10, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2009 From Carnival's web site (frequently asked questions): What is the Fountain Fun Card?We will offer to all guests the option to purchase a "Fountain Fun Card" which will allow them unlimited soft drinks for the duration of the cruise at a one time purchase price (including gratuities). The "Fountain Fun Card" can be purchased at the casino, lobby and pool bar onboard the ship. In all locations where beverage service is offered, guests may receive a glass of the soft drink of their choice - one glass will be served at a time and only to the guest whose name appears on the card. The card cannot be used through room service. NOTE: A 15% gratuity will automatically be added on at the time of purchase of the Fountain Fun Card. MamaParrotHead Posted February 10, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2009 From a copy of the Capers, "Funship Fountain Fun Card...unlimited soft drinks and juices for the entire cruise for one low price". I'm pretty sure anything blended isn't covered.

63Corvette Posted February 10, 2009 #7 Share Posted February 10, 2009 Thanks for your reference go the Carnival FAQ. However, I al well aware of it's content. I was looking for real life experiences.:) Understand......we had the same question from our cruise last month. My Wife was given juice with the card on the Lido deck, but was told it was only for soft drinks (canned soda) at the bar in the casino. Wasn't a big deal, but we did search the carnival site when we returned and found the statement I posted. Still not clear on the rule. There is a post on this thread that I believe is probably right - the one made by "G-ma" ...she knows Carnival and their rules as well as anyone. 2sunny Posted February 11, 2009 #10 Share Posted February 11, 2009 I do have one piece of advice - SAVE yourself a bunch of $$$ and wait a few hours to buy your soda card. Wait and buy your soda card(s) anytime AFTER the ship opens their gift shops and/or casino. You will then be past the "tax zone". If you purchase your soda card(s) and maybe even the thermal cup and are still in port you WILL be charged the PORT TAX, if in Miami that can be as high as 15%. That is crazy! Once you are out to sea you can purchase your soda card at any bar. Just my opinion - I have no problem paying for something that we want, no matter the cost, but I hate being ripped off. Paying 15% more for something when I can wait just a few hours and save that 15% just seems smart to me. You have the info now it is your choice.;)
Fancy_Goods Posted February 11, 2009 #11 Share Posted February 11, 2009 Don't forget, the Soda Card can be used for Club Soda, Tonic Water and other bar mixers. Shirley Temples and Roy Rodgers are included...as well as pineapple juice.

SATXLady Posted February 11, 2009 #13 Share Posted February 11, 2009 I do have one piece of advice - SAVE yourself a bunch of $$$ and wait a few hours to buy your soda card. I disagee with this advice since I start drinking sodas as soon as I get on board. It may be several hours before you sail so unless you want to drink something else in the meantime, I find it worthwhile to make it my first purchase on board. Ref the reusalble thermal cups, I just take the one I purchased on my first cruise with me.
