calgal729 Posted February 11, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2009 DH wants to do the Sea Trek excursion in St. Maarten (SMA1) on our upcoming Celebrity cruise, where you wear this strange helmet looking thing to go under water. Its not really scuba diving, there's no special breathing apparatus, and your hair and face stay dry. (You can even where your glasses!) Has anyone tried this or is planning on doing this excursion? I would be curious to know what others have experienced or heard of this, since this is the first I've heard of this type of water activity. Thanks! bikevegas Posted March 8, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 8, 2009 My Wife and I are looking at doing this on our cruise on 4/11/09. Have you gone yet? If so, How was it?
jim in cleveland Posted April 3, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 3, 2009 I tried it in Mexico a few years. It was kinda like going to a dude ranch where they had a smal ladder next to the horse :) I LOVED it ---- you look pretty stupid; a guide wearing tanks is with you the whole time; he/she teaches you hand signals for communication; and takes a lot of pictures that you can purchase, of course. If you've never walked on the sand at the bottom of the ocean (not really far down at all) it's fun and it's safe.
