Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires

Does anybody know if Teatro Colon is opened to the public? If so, how to buy tickets?

We toured the Colon several years ago for about $5.00 US. The tour was wonderful and I would highly recommend it. The theater has been closed for tours because of renovations, as far as I've read, but I thought it was due to open again sometime this year. Perhaps one of the BA residents can better comment. If you have the opportunity to take a tour , by all means go. We found it very interesting.

Reopening has been delayed until sometime in 2010.

That's too bad about the delay. We'll be back there in February, 2010 - I'll keep my fingers crossed for a reopening by then! :)

we just returned from BA - actually just got home today! The Teatro remains closed - supposed to open later this year - but our tour guide said that there is little chance that it will reopen then - things are moving very slowly with the refurbishment. Too bad.
