Coral Princess: Cabin Caribe 627

Cruisin' Crazy

Recommended Posts

Going on the Coral Princess in February, cabin Caribe 627, a handicap cabin.

Has anyone been in this cabin recently (or any of the other three on this deck, C618, C620 or C633, all identical but reversed or mirror image) or may be thru December or January?

Looking for a close-up digital photo and measurements of the ramp to the balcony with a view to deciding whether my wife’s scooter can get over it or not. If we decide she cannot, we will need to have the ship’s carpenter modify or build a new one suitable for a long scooter, as opposed to a shorter wheelbase manual chair. Main potential problem is the scooter platform grounding out on the top angle of a too short ramp or high sill, preventing it from going over and out.

If anyone has a photo, would appreciate an email with attachment of picture. Thank you.

I know that people may think this should be on the disabled board, and in fact, will post it there too. However, when handi cabins are not used for wheelchair people, they are often used as upgrades for abled pax. This happens quite often, in our experience. Looking forward to any help available. Thanks. Ken.

I have been inside this cabin in Island Princess, but I don't have any photographs. I would guess that the cabin-->balcony ramp is something on the order of 2.5' square, and that the balcony-->cabin ramp is about 2.5' wide and about 1' foot in length. Essentially, the ramps match up to the width of the sliding door opening, as best I recall. The sill is about the normal height of a residential sliding door (a few inches?)

I found this photo on webshots. Perhaps you can locate the owner of the photo album and inquire about using a scooter in the accessible cabins?
