Any perks for CAT BA on SKY

Mr.Jailerman...there was a smell around the aft elevators but it wasn't exactly a sewage smell. It did not get into the cabins...it really didn't bother me...

As for the curtains..we didn't keep them shut..but that was because we just didn't remember to shut them when we left...the room was always cool when we entered...I would have liked it to be a lot cooler than it was but I was dealing with 2 other people who think if a room is below 80 degrees it is cold....(don't ask)...

The only time I did get up to close them was on the 1st night because it was a full moon and I woke up with the moon shinning directly into my eyes...Very pretty though...

Very Nice melana..;) Thanks once more and now it's time to book another one right ?:D

almost time. I am still debating between a Canada and New England Cruise or another cruise to the Bahamas or Carribean..Probably will go for the canada cruise since my mom is interested in going. I just have to save up a little bit to make the deposit...

Thank goodness my tax return will be here in a few weeks... :D

I was booked to go From New York to canada this august and switched it to the western caribbean for this June simply because it was not going to be near as fun for my son as the caribbean will be. If he's not happy (And Busy :D) Dad's not happy.. I was also not very happy the more I researched that trip as it went out of New york and everything is STRESS THERE.. You have to fly in so many more hours early because of bad traffic. If you want to take the Carnival shuttle is $80.00pp round trip and takes at least and hour each way. Also you can't get a hotel in Mannhattan with a swimming pool (With a child remember) and anything half way decent was $500.00 a night ! So long story short..:D Mexico here I come ! Tell mom you REALLY want to go to Mexico !! :) P.S Stanton KY ?? Anywhere near Paduccuh ? (Im sure I spelled that wrong also:D ) Been to Paduccuh 3 times in my life.. Nice people in KY !

Well Stanton is about 4 hours from paducah in the eastern part of the state...Yes we are a nice bunch of folks here in Kentucky.

My mom and I are actually thinking of taking Amtrak to New York..there is a station about 2 hours from our house...I don't like to fly that much...

But it is just in the planning stages now..Yes I have been looking at New York hotels and they are expensive...makes Fort Lauderdale and Miami look cheap..

But if I book a 2010 cruise..I should have enough time to save up for the hotel stay...

I am in 9076 I believe. That's to bad your chances for an upgrade got cut in half. I hope I get one but I went through a TA so not sure if NCL does upgrades through a TA. If not, I won't be disappointed because I am happy with what I have.

I noticed in your profile your are from Chicago. I was born and raised in Chicago but now live in Champaign,IL. The crime rate is pretty high in Chicago so I bet you are busy all the time working with the prison system.

I'm in 9076 in august... please write a review so i know how it is ;-)

BA cat....

everyone gets Champagne or OJ.

No offer to be escorted to the cabin (either trip). Maybe it depends what time you board. The fire doors are shut until 2 O'Clock. Where will they walk you to before then?... as long as it's not the plank.

A choc chip cookie the 2nd night (We used our second one at GCS to feed the fish. They went NUTS).

Sit down breakfast at the midship resturant. Agreed, service was just alright, but then I didn't have to prepare or cart it back to a table. btw... the BEST corned beef hash ever. It's real CB, not the canned stuff. I had it every day & one day I had a triple order, since they forgot my first double order. hahaha.

Def grab the romance package, but be careful of your timing. Since it's full port days, figure out your dinner first. The second night of either the 3 or 4 day cruise is Lobster night. They're good, not excellent. Free lobster... is free lobster. Not nearly as good as a full size lonely guy plated by itself along side a dish of drawn butter. Anyway......

Jailer... your'e cracking me up.

MY husband is from Somerset,KY, ever heard of it?

Nice area...very scenic.

Yes, planning is a lot of fun..I have only sailed out of Port Canaveral in Florida. Which I liked a lot. This time we are out of the Port of Miami and I am finding that I don't like it as much even though I haven't been there yet. I think it is because there is no car rental agency on site and if you don't have a car parked at the port you have to take a taxi or get a shuttle. I am just not familiar with Miami so that is the problem. Once I get there I hope I have a different opinion.

It's not to late to move back to my "BC" Steve and get back my $40.00 ! :D

I don't know....... You paid in full by now. I hear those Norwegians don't like to change things after they got their money. You may have to take it up with Hagar himself.

By the way, on the SKY, how much do we tip the drummer that keeps us in rythm while we row?

LOL, thanks Boss. I blinked my eyes, and we were married 20 years. I turned around, and I'm married 25 years. I've got a college senior and a college sophmore too. Where did the time go?

Whow.. Two in Collage.. Good for you ! Most of "MY CLIENTS" did not go the College route so you definitely have them ON THE RIGHT PATH ! :D My first cabin when I booked this cruise really was a "BC" #9040 as that was one of the first cabins written about here on CC as everything working. I don't know how long you have been booked but this ship had ALOT OF PROBLEMS back in JULY,2008 when it started the Bahamas runs. I had started a Thread here of good cabins to book and #9040 was one of the first to come up so I grabed it.. The problems included : Toilets not working or overflowing (ALOT OF THEM:eek:) The A/C not working in ALOT of cabins and a BAD SEWAGE SMELL toward the AFT of the ship..NCL has claimed to have fixed everything although people still smell something by the AFT elevators but they say it does not come into the cabins ? We Shall see..:D

We were interested in the SKY itinerary, but I read some God awful reviews on another site. A day or two later I went back and re-read them. I noticed most of the bad reviews were from when she was running around Hawaii, and very early on in her current route. The reviews all got much-much better after a short time running the Bahamas route. Then double checked the very latest reviews, they were all pretty good. So we reconsidered.

The more I spend on a vacation, the harder to please I am. In this case, the cruise is a bargain and then some. So I'm not expecting Nieman-Marcus service when I'm paying Wal-Mart prices. Just be pleasant to me, give me decent food, keep the place clean and I'll be fine. Now if I were spending a bundle, I would expect to be pampered.

I agree 100% Even though I paid full price for this cruise (As it is the end of the spring break weeks) This Balcony is still cheaper then I could get it on any other cruiseline so I go in thinking that also.

Glad to hear you had a good time. You didn't smell any funky oders back there did you ? They had a SEWAGE oder issue back ther last July but I think they finally addressed it. Did you have to keep your curtins closed all the time to keep the cabin cool ? Thanks once more and welcome home..:)

We seem to encounter the funky odors every cruise we've taken whether it be midship or aft, Celebrity or DCL. I read somewhere it has to do with the old pipes. We bring air freshener. I read somewhere that you could poor something down the shower drain to ease the smells, but I can't remember what it was. I seem to want to say vinegar or lime juice. DD
