Hi by_u-nurse,

Victoria is wonderful city and the area has so much to see and experience that a day trip is great although most of your time will be travelling by bus to and from the Island.

As an option, you may want to spend your time in Vancouver iteself - there are many tours and excursions that can be booked right from your hotel or at the port upon arrival. Vancouver has something for everyone - and a tour suited for any time frame. Remember - Vancouver is not only a cosmopolitan city, but a Tourist Destination in itself - so many options.

You can also check out The Whistler Mountaineer Train. A Day trip to Whistler (location of many events for 2010 Olympics). It's a full day, but the train trip is spectacular itself (3 hrs. each way plus a couple of hours in Whistler before returning).

If you have the time, a few days in Vancouver would really top off your cruise nicely. That way you could see Victoria one day, spend a day in Vancouver itself and another on the train to Whistler - a great trio to get a brief taste of our West Coast.

Have a wonderful Cruise and enjoy our city!

Doug
