tonghua Posted February 18, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2009 On June 9, my husband and I will be in Skagway on board the Sapphire Princess. We have previously gone on the White Pass Railway by Chilkoot Charters in 2006. We have looked up the Alaska Nature & Wildlife Expedition offered by Klondike Tour (Duration: 5.5 to 6 Hours, Cost: $132.50 per person). Has anyone gone on this tour before? How do you find the tour? What kind of “boat” do they use? All comments appreciated. tonghua
Yukon Posted February 18, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 18, 2009 This tour takes the fast-ferry to Haines and then tours by van or school bus. Despite the claims, don't count on seeing much wildlife (and eagles will be seen at many places on your cruise, notably Ketchikan). The operator's Web page about it can be seen at http://www.klondiketours.com/haineseaglepreserve.html
