brandi_7998 Posted February 19, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2009 my family and i would like to a spring break cruise in 2010 leaving from galveston. i have been searching the boards looking for a member cruise hoping to get the best price possible. i have 2 questions. 1. are the member cruises cheaper or is just the deposit cheaper? in other words, if i only pay a $50/pp deposit is the fare regular price? 2. is anyone else interesting in getting a group together for SB 2010? i think the dates for spring break that year will be mar. 15th- 20th. this will only be my 2nd cruise so i dont think i should be a director or anything but would love to go with a group. thanks for your help guys!! brandi_7998 Posted February 19, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted February 19, 2009 hi thank you for your response. after looking i think only carnival leaves from galveston in march. i dont think i am interested in going on a carnival spring break cruise. it seems like it be be more teenagers and people in their early 20's. does anyone have any experience with carnival during spring break? maybe we will go in july. where were you thinking of leaving from? momsoftwins Posted February 19, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2009 i can leave from any port really...with leaving in ohio i have to fly to any port . in all my 7 cruises i book based on the ports of call not really where they sail from or what ship it is. and too the price makes a difference. and seein is how this is your "honeynoon" unless being with "kids" doesnt bother you. the crowd at spring break would be one i would not want to be around. i personally have never sailed SB or summer for that matter. but now being newly single and my kids starting school this fall i might not have a choice. i normally cruise late jan early feb. really nice to get out of the ohio winter or i guess begining of sept once most schools are back in.. again nice the prices are lower (due to hurricanes) but i have never had a bad experience. just a few things to think about

rubato Posted February 19, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 19, 2009 I took a Carnival spring break cruise 3 years ago and I will be going again in a little over a week. I did see some college kids and 20 somethings, but there were a TON of families on board also. My son made a lot of friends at camp. The partying tends to be late night, so mornings and family activites aren't going to be inundated with the older kids. I find that all ages over 21 can get out of hand given too much fun, not just young adults! ;)
allesonwonderland Posted April 19, 2009 #7 Share Posted April 19, 2009 We did a Carnival Spring Break cruise last year. (With all of Texas--LOL) I didn't think there were a lot of teens/20's at all. Our kids were 7 and 10 at the time and are already asking about going on another cruise. I just got on to research the different options out of Galveston myself. Wouldn't be able to participate in your group cruise for 2010, but hope you have a great time!!
csss31399 Posted April 20, 2009 #8 Share Posted April 20, 2009 Looks like RCI is going out of Galveston in March, too. I am looking at the same port/week for my fam of five.
