I forget - what do you need to get back on the ship?

I remember when we would leave for the ports we took our sign & sail card - was that it??? Or did we also need to bring our drivers lic???

You could always be asked for picture ID if you are not in a US port (Foreign jurisdiction customs, law enforcement) We have been asked by local authorities several times before being allowed to proceed onto the dock.

 

Carnival only wants your Sign & Sail card.

I have only been asked for my sail&sign card, but I always take a picture ID with me.

It used to be a couple years ago that all you needed was your ship ID card but lately more ports have security and you need to show photo ID along with you ship ID.

I alwasy show my Photo I.D. whether they ask for it or not. I guess its just a good habit to get into, just in case its needed!

To get on the ship all you need is your S&S card. To get to the ship you'll need your S&S card and photo ID. Every port we went to had their own security that you had to go through before you were allowed on the pier to approach the ship.

I forgot our passports one time and the S&S machines went down. They let other people on who had their passports (they checked them manually) while we had to wait for the machine to come back up. Won't make that mistake again!:eek:
