Gem cruise to Bahamas question

We are a family of 4 thinking of going on a Feb 2010 cruise out of NY to Bahamas. We are thinking of a mini-suite. I am looking at the AF category deck 11. Which is a better side of the ship to book a room on, Port or Starboard? Does anyone have any suggestion for a particular room? Are some rooms larger than others? TIA

Only one thing I can think of, PORT is smoking side, so if you don't want smoke drifting in, stay away from this side. I prefer to look at the ocean rather than the ports, some are pretty but some are industrial looking. Hope this helps
