travellovers2 Posted February 22, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2009 Our ship offers this tour: Drive through Limon. Your guide will provide a history of Limon and point out historic buildings and other items of interest. The first stop is the Enchanted Cave, which was once underwater; after several earthquakes over the millennia, the cave emerged from the water. It is now a small museum with displays of replicas and some original Indian artifacts and sculptures. The next stop is at a family farm bounded by the Tortuguero Canals. Enjoy a guided walk on a boardwalk and well-maintained trails through the coastal tropical forest. Spend some time in the butterfly and frog gardens to view and photograph these amazing inhabitants of the forest. Savor a fresh fruit buffet and a refreshing seasonal tropical fruit juice while Afro-Caribbean dancers entertain you. Prior to returning to the ship pass by a banana plantation and learn interesting facts about this fruit. Finally travel along the coastline and past small villages around Port Limon Has anyone done this tour? How was it?
