Private tour to see if we want to return for an extended vacation

Hi everyone

My first post! We couldn't decide which island to stay on so booked a cruise to check out a few. We'd really like to book a tour that would take us around to the resort areas so we could see whether it's a spot to return to. Any ideas on how to go about this? The islands we're interested in are Barbados, St Lucia and Antigua. Or should we book an excursion to particular beaches and scope out the area that way?

Thanks for any help!:)

We've been to Barbados several times and the past few times have used Cameron Reid for private tours to see specific sights on the island. We just returned from the Emerald Princess and used Cameron for a 4 hr tour and the charge was $135 for the 4hrs for the car (not pp). Contact him via email to discuss what your specific needs/wants are, so that you maximize your time once you get there. camireid@yahoo.com

Yes, absolutely check with Cameron Reid. We've been to Barbados three times, booked with him, and he's shown us around Barbados. It's definitely the Caribbean island where I would want to return if I had the means to stay at a resort. We've been twice to Antigua and to St. Lucia; of those two, I prefer Antigua, but Barbados is the best!! You'll love it--and you'll really like Cameron. :) Be sure to ask to see Crane Beach Resort! And Sandy Lane! To mention only two of numerous wonderful ones.

Have a great time and a wonderful cruise!

For what it is worth, we were on a similar trip checking out the islands to see which one we wanted to return to and Barbados won hands down. Really nice, great and helpful people on the Island, a large number of beaches ranging from quiet, peaceful and very calm to rolling, rocking and large waves. Easy to get around by car with multiple roads and routes to get around and lots of interesting attractions - Harrisons Cave, Bathsheeba, Green Monkeys, Orchid World, Andromeda Botannical Gardens etc. We found the island to be orderely, the drivers to be friendly, the roads to be efficient (albeit that the ABC highway was quite busy).

When we want to Barbados, we decided to rent our own car for the day (we had our two kids with us - 8 and 4) - it was a lot of fun and really neat to go off on our own - we especially loved the East Coast - breathtaking comes to mind.

We are going back for a nine day stay. Good luck with your discovery.

Cheers
