farmersescape Posted February 23, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2009 Does anyone know if they offer this service, and if so, for how much?
garycarla Posted February 23, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2009 yes, you can pay a few hundred and take the risk of a less than happy cruise experience. Pretty much everyone going on a cruise loves to eat, and you will have some issues after going through this experience. No first hand experience, but people that have posted talk about sore gums, senstive teeth, rules about what you can eat and not eat, etc.
fluffy0712 Posted February 23, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 23, 2009 Please don't take this the wrong way, but why would anyone want to get there teeth whitened on a cruise ship?? I'm I missing something??
farmersescape Posted February 23, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted February 23, 2009 I heard it was quite a bit cheaper that what it costs in Canada. Doesn't sound like it, though.
jhayman Posted February 23, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2009 Don't do it. Things can go wrong and the worst thing on vacation would be to have sore gums because someone messed up whitening your teeth. It happened to me before and it was with an actual dentist. Go to someone who is qualified when you are at home where you can follow up afterwards if there are problems. I don't know what they charge on the ship but surely it would be cheaper at a dentist. It's around $400-$500 for Zoom whitening around here.
familyof4cruising Posted February 23, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 23, 2009 My friends did it last week when we were on board. I will ask them and post. He had no problems. You just need to stay away from things like red wine and berries( because they stain).
AFT_LOVER Posted February 23, 2009 #7 Share Posted February 23, 2009 Why it is in our water system, as everyone has yellow teeth from it. Best way to be safe & whiten teeth is to take a spoonful of baking soda to a bit of hydrogen peroxide to wet it & brush teeth with it. Same as the Arm & Hammer toothpaste. Whitening teeth on any cruiseship would be like having your hairdresser whiten your teeth, IMHO
