I would arrive early and check into a hotel that offers free parking for the week. From the hotel, you take a shuttle to the port and enjoy your cruise. At least the money you spend for the room isnt for some parking lot, but something you can enjoy. The Radisson is a board favorite.

We stayed at the Radisson last year when sailing on the Glory. Shuttle to and from the port was very convenient. If memory serves (if you knew me, you'd know how funny that is...) we got the hotel for one night, parking all week and breakfast for around the same price as parking at the port. If you have to drive more than 3-4 hours I'd drive in the night before and stay at the hotel.

Here's a photo of the parking garage at Port Canaveral - made from the ship. It's so close that we didn't even bother to drop off our luggage 1st, we just parked and rolled our luggage across the street to the terminal.

The hotel seems to be the best deal, but car will be out in open. Pt Canaveral will be inside if you get in early enough. Did the drive from Fla to Pt Liberty 18 months ago for Explorer and wished we had an option, paid $ 100.00+ to park outside and walk back to terminal had deal with baggage handlers that were doing you a favor, you handled the bags on to carts and they expected tips.

Plan an extra day or at least a few hours and see the area. Port is about 15 miles to KSC, Cocoa Beach and the area is great.

Lucky enough to live 20 miles from Port Canaveral
