silvercharmer Posted February 24, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2009 I leave on AOS in less than two weeks, and it's time to assemble an iPod playlist to have by the pool! I need your suggestions. What music do you bring along when you cruise?

Rare printingchick Posted February 24, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 24, 2009 The VERY BEST cruise song of all time (IMHO) was recommended by someone on my Meet & Mingle Boards. It is: "Where the Boat Leave From" by Zac Brown. The lyrics are PERFECT! Other songs on my Cruise Playlist: One Love (Bob Marley) Jammin' (Bob Marley) Everybody Want to Go to Heaven (Kenny Chesney) It's Five O'Clock Somewhere (Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffet) I Like to Move It (Madagascar) Then What (Clay Walker - lots of steel drums) Don't Worry, Be Happy (Bobby McFerrin) Some Beach (Blake Shelton) Lots and Lots of Jimmy Buffet

deanaw72 Posted February 24, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 24, 2009 Reggae....I love Inner Circle, Bob Marley, Ziggy Marley. I agree on the Zac Brown song. He has another one called "Toes" that is a good beachy song. If you look on iTunes, there is an iTunes essentials list called "Sailing" or something like that. I got lots of good songs off there. esbie11 Posted February 24, 2009 #15 Share Posted February 24, 2009 The soundtrack for the movie "50 First Dates" has alot of songs that are well known, but re-done in a reggae version. I also like the song "Beautiful Day" by U2 and "Jump in the Line" (Shake Shake Shake Senora), although it always makes me think of the movie "Beetlejuice":D

TommyC Posted February 24, 2009 #19 Share Posted February 24, 2009 WOW – great question. I just finished loading my iPod last night for our upcoming cruise. We have 2.5 days At-Sea each way and plenty of pool/sun/ocean time to listen. I have a variety: Allman Brothers, Beatles, Jimmy Buffet, Elton John, Billy Joel, Bob Marley (Babylon by Bus highly recommended), G3, Joe Satriani, Santana, Van Halen, even some Opera. BUT, what I have the most of is Dance music – Ministry of Sound, Paul Oakenfold, Trance Nation, etc – lots of my CD’s were purchased in Europe, plus music from XM and other broadcast-only tracks. I edit out the tracks I don’t want, remove the gaps, plug in my good noise-cancelling ear-buds, adjust the equalizer, and it reminds me of going to Privilege or Space for a party. Heck - what more could you want – music with a great beat plus the sun, the pool, the ocean breezes, the gentle rocking of the ship……….. I'm there already!! Foffie232 Posted February 24, 2009 #21 Share Posted February 24, 2009 Everytime I hear this one, I call it "the cruise song" because the live band seems to always be playing it when we first walk up on the pool deck on sail away day: How Far Is Heaven? - Los Lonley Boys :)

klass2 Posted February 25, 2009 #25 Share Posted February 25, 2009 How Far Is Heaven? - Los Lonley Boys Good choice! I almost forgot that one. This will be my first cruise, but I've had visions of dancing somewhere in a slightly intoxicated stupor to "Red Red Wine". Great thread, so I'm subscribing!
