tineedancer Posted February 24, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2009 On the day of embarkation is Crossings Restaurant open, or is it just the buffet? We are in a regular cabin. Thanks much, tineedancer

Thanks much, tineedancer That's a good question because I really don't remember, when we went in December I think we went straight to the buffet, I know on debark day main dining room is open til 9. Kellismom Posted February 24, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 24, 2009 I believe it was the Crossing restaurant that was open - we ate in a restaurant not the buffet right after boarding.

We're going to do that this time around, the buffet was so small on the sky it was really crowded specially on embarktion day.
Vehorn Posted February 24, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 24, 2009 We were on the Sky a few weeks ago and the other dining room, Palace I think, was open when we boarded and we had a nice lunch there. It was open for anyone. It also was open for breakfast but for only those who had a balcony. Hope your cruise is as nice as was ours.
imsmpls Posted February 24, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 24, 2009 I thought I had read that Il Adagio was open on embarkation day but I doubt that was specific to the Sky. Does anybody know? We're traveling with 2 young children and are looking for something quick but not too chaotic. Thanks!

I agree, I learned here on CC that you could eat in the restaurant. With all the cruises I have done, I always thought you had to eat at the buffet. The last two cruises we have gone into the dining room and enjoy it so much more.

Yup, the buffet is good, but on embarktion day it tends to get a bit crazy, atleast you can sit in the dining room, be served more relaxing! CruisnGram Posted February 24, 2009 #12 Share Posted February 24, 2009 What was the lunch menu in Crossing? I certainly don't remember it specifically but it was sandwiches, soups, etc. I had the BarBQ ribs which were delicious. CG

sigsoho Posted February 24, 2009 #14 Share Posted February 24, 2009 For lunch on embarktion day, Palace was open. Not sure about the Italian restaurant. The lunch there (made to order pasta) and pizza slices are so-so.
graysladymurphy Posted February 25, 2009 #15 Share Posted February 25, 2009 Anyone know if the Pizza and Pasta for lunch at the Italian restaurant is free, or do you have to pay a cover?
travel_lover Posted February 25, 2009 #16 Share Posted February 25, 2009 Anyone know if the Pizza and Pasta for lunch at the Italian restaurant is free, or do you have to pay a cover? For lunch it's free, for dinner it's a charge, but for dinner the choices are endless!
