ehogan Posted February 26, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2009 How good is NCL with upgrades on guarantee cabins? We have always booked this way on Carnival and have received some excellent upgrades. We are booked for May 2010 and at present have an assigned inside cabin. I was wondering if I should switch to guarantee. Thanks in advance
johnql Posted February 26, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2009 It's really a crapshoot. It depends entirely on your particular sailing, whether it's selling well or not. As long as you don't care where you're located, it wouldn't hurt to switch to a guarantee, but my advice is to study the deck plans carefully and be certain that you'll be happy with any inside cabin that you're assigned. As far as upgrades, it's not unusual to receive a minor upgrade within a category (i.e., inside to better inside, ov to better ov, etc.), but jumping from one category to another should not be expected, although it does happen occasionally. Again, it depends on the sailing.
