First cruise first excursion

Just looking for ideas on what to do when we get off ship in Jamaica. This is our first cruise & it is our honeymoon. Someone told us to raft on the Martha Brae. Anyone have any input on this???

Thank you

Are you docking in Ocho Rios or Montego Bay?

We did the rafting tour on the Rio Grande on our honeymoon, which is the same idea as the Martha Brae. You sit on a long wooden raft. The raft is navigated by your raftsman. It is a pretty relaxing ride and we had the opportunity to jump into the river for a swim if we wanted to.

I am guessing that since you were asking about river rafting on the Martha Brae, you are probably docking in Montego Bay. This tour is noted as "being for lovers", and is probably why it was recommended to you as honeymooners. It is a unique ride--you have a guide that stands on the front of your bamboo raft and uses a long stick to navigate it. It is a relaxing and enjoyable ride.

Dunns River Falls is located in Ocho Rios which is approx. a 2-hour drive from Mo Bay. However it is spectacular and personally I would choose an excursion there. You are able to climb 600 feet up the Falls which is surrounded by lush tropical vegetable. The Falls is fed by fresh mountain water that cascades down into the ocean. On our last cruise we did a private tour that combined Dunns River Falls with River Tubing on the White River--that was a blast!

There is alot to see and do in Jamaica--from something relaxing to something with a little more adventure--the choice is yours!

Take a taxi to Couples Resort San Souci. It is an all-inclusive resort for couples only. It is $50 pp for a day pass and $20 each round trip taxi. No children there, only adult couples, the wife and I loved it so much we are planning a future vacation there.
