Changing people around in rooms on carnival imagination

Is it ok to switch around people in the rooms once they are booked? We are going with 14 and some people that had decided to go later on and booked seperately might want to be in a room with someone different in the group. Can we just do that on our own without a problem or do they care? Do we have room keys or use the sail and sign cards as keys? Does each person booked in a room have their own key or card to use?

We always go to the Pursuers desk once onboard and ask them for extra room keys for the people switching rooms. The people who switch carry 2 cards - a S&S and room key. We've never had a problem.

Other people have said that they swap rooms while checking in. Some people get new S&S keys once they switch rooms.

Regardless of how you do it, you shouldn't have any problems.

It's much easier to do the switch when checking in that way the S&S cards already reflect the proper credit card associated with the user. Unless of course your doing it to let two kids stay in a stateroom together where you had to originally book an adult. Then you will have to do the extra keys. Your S&S will still be charged to the original room you were booked in, you will just have an extra key entry into your new room.

We have to do this because we travel with our kids (19 and 13) who we put into a room by themselves when we get on the ship. All of our charges go to the same credit card anyway. But we also have a key to their room which is nice. Although...one of them also has a key to ours. We book Me and our 13 year old daughter together and my husband and our 19 year old son together. Then we switch me with our 19 year old son, who knows better than to use it!!!:D
