Where to purchase beer by port?

Since I've been reading that's it's pretty easy to carry a 6 pack of beer back on the ship, where would be the closest place we could purchase some - and can someone recommend a good P.R. beer? Thanks!

The SuperMax supermarket on Plaza del Armas (map) in Old San Juan has a full stock - beer, rum, wine, champange, etc. You can also try the little liquor store next to Pier #2 (map).

 

Medalla is the local beer.

There is also a small liquor store across the street from Pier 4 . They should have beer too. But a very small selection.

 

The Supermax had the best selection in OSJ.

 

-ps- don't expect many "premium" or imported beers. It seems like most of PR consumes the local light beer- Medallia, or the Coors and Bud quality of beer. Supermax had a couple better quality brands. But there is a larger tax on beer not made in PR, so the premium and imported beers are more pricey.
