Lirica at Cristobal, Panama

Does Lirica enter the lock at Cristobal? If it does not, will we see other ships traversing the Gatun Locks?

From what I understand (may be wrong) the Lirica does not axtually enter any locks. And since it is the canal we have booked the lines excursion that takes you all the way thru the cananl to the Pacific. In order to book it has to be done thru the TA and must be completely paid for.

 

We will be on the same sailing as you.

There are 17 of us in our group. Are we allowed to tour the port on our own if some of us did not book any land excursion?

We have never been to Panama before so I don't know what all there is to do and how easy to see the locks. Try to Google Cristobal, Panama and you should get enough sites to check out to see what to do.

 

I do that for almost every port we will be going to so we can see ahead of time if we will want to book a ships excursion or go it on our own.

sugar&spice, there are a lot of subforums on CC. And a lot of times you will find an answer to a question you have without asking. But sometimes you still have to ask.

I just got off the ship and they have a ships excursion to take you thru some of the locks......

hillylake, how was that excursion? We have booked it for our cruise in April. It is one thing we are really looking forward to.
