sugar&spice Posted March 7, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 7, 2009 Does Lirica enter the lock at Cristobal? If it does not, will we see other ships traversing the Gatun Locks? What is there to do?
nlb1050 Posted March 7, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 7, 2009 From what I understand (may be wrong) the Lirica does not axtually enter any locks. And since it is the canal we have booked the lines excursion that takes you all the way thru the cananl to the Pacific. In order to book it has to be done thru the TA and must be completely paid for. We will be on the same sailing as you.
sugar&spice Posted March 8, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted March 8, 2009 There are 17 of us in our group. Are we allowed to tour the port on our own if some of us did not book any land excursion?
nlb1050 Posted March 9, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 9, 2009 We have never been to Panama before so I don't know what all there is to do and how easy to see the locks. Try to Google Cristobal, Panama and you should get enough sites to check out to see what to do. I do that for almost every port we will be going to so we can see ahead of time if we will want to book a ships excursion or go it on our own. Also check the forum for Panama : http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=89 should find a lot of answers there.
sugar&spice Posted March 9, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted March 9, 2009 Nancy, Thank you so much for the very helpful link. I never know Cruise Critic has other sub-forums. Now I know where to go before I ask questions that can be found elsewhere on this site..
nlb1050 Posted March 9, 2009 #6 Share Posted March 9, 2009 sugar&spice, there are a lot of subforums on CC. And a lot of times you will find an answer to a question you have without asking. But sometimes you still have to ask.
