pomlover Posted March 9, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted March 9, 2009 We haven't booked hotel yet. We are leaving on the NCL Pearl in May. Wondered which would be best to have a hotel closer to airport or pier? And then the best way to get to the pier. Thanks
Travelight Posted March 9, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 9, 2009 We used www.seattleexpress.com. Pretty reasonably priced, I think. There is also a place at the beside the cruise terminal that will store your luggage for $3.00 per bag for a while.

Downtown hotels generally average about $250-300 per night for two people, plus the hotel tax (about 15% at the moment). There are any number of good hotels downtown. Within walking distance of the pier are the Edgewater and Marriott Waterfront. The airport is 15+ miles south of downtown. Hotels down there will average about $75+/- less than downtown hotels per night. If you stay down there, you can take a taxi or town car for about $40-45 for two people. Or, if you are "brave, you can bid downtown hotels on Priceline or Hotwire and hope for a better price that way. Some are reporting getting good hotels for about $100 a night. If they put you in a room on the top floor and you can't haul your own luggage up to the third floor and back on your own (no elevator), you might want to think twice. If you just have to have air conditioning, you might want to think twice. It is a historic old building (I live in one just like it a few miles away), with not many modern conveniences. Close to some good restaurants. Terminal 91 about 4-4.5 miles away. Taxi fare should be less than $20 before gratuity and fuel surcharge. Cab from the airport to the hotel about $55-60 before gratuity and fuel surcharge.
