Ship time vs local time?

Hi!

We have booked a private tour with Marva Shaw (after reading many good recommendations from this board - thanks!) Our vouchers say this :

Ship Time versus Local Time.

For Cruise Ship passengers, please remember that the ship's clock time is not the same as the local time of the destination you will be visiting. The time for your excursion is Local Time. Please check with concierge for differences between local time and ship time.

Er... I'm a little confused! Here at home, I'm in Atlantic -4 time. Is the ship's time on Florida time? If so then I have to figure out what time is local Jamaica time and make sure that my tour coincides with disembarkation? Ugh this sounds complicated though? You'd think they'd be used to ship passengers ?
