crazymrsnancy Posted March 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2009 Hi! We have booked a private tour with Marva Shaw (after reading many good recommendations from this board - thanks!) Our vouchers say this : Ship Time versus Local Time. For Cruise Ship passengers, please remember that the ship's clock time is not the same as the local time of the destination you will be visiting. The time for your excursion is Local Time. Please check with concierge for differences between local time and ship time. Er... I'm a little confused! Here at home, I'm in Atlantic -4 time. Is the ship's time on Florida time? If so then I have to figure out what time is local Jamaica time and make sure that my tour coincides with disembarkation? Ugh this sounds complicated though? You'd think they'd be used to ship passengers ?
jdbmga Posted March 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2009 Jamaica is one hour behind EST (ship's time if leaving FL)
crazymrsnancy Posted March 11, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted March 11, 2009 Thanks jdb! I think that it's starting to make more sense hehe. So if my excursion starts at 8h30am Jamaican time, then it's really 9h30am ship's time right? (The ship disembarks at 8am, so I should have enough time.. )
jdbmga Posted March 11, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 11, 2009 Yes, you are correct. And here is confirmation. http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_JM.aspx We toured with Marva last July and had a good time. :) No worries.
