After reading some of the reviews I wonder if anyone knows if you need a magnetic strip card (credit type card) to use the safe on the Valor?

Yes any card with a strip will work. I use an old gift card because it has no personal info just in case.

We used our room card on the Victory and I think on the Valor you could swipe a card or enter a combination.

Just got off the Valor -- You can't use your room card You do need a credit card with a magnetic strip ( I thought this was crazy) You need it to open & close the safe so it can't be one that you want to leave in the safe. that idea to use a gift card was a good one!

You can use an old hotel key card!

Player cards from a land based casino work also and if you have more than one in the same name it has the same strip so you have a backup safe key

we were on the Valor last May and used our Borders Reward card...don't use a credit card you then have to either keep it with you or hide it somewhere in the room...kind of defeats the purpose of the safe!
