~WeightWatchers Support~

I'm not the fastest loser in our group at work but I am ok with that. I am just using it as support to get started. I have to relearn everything again and actually apply it. I actually have the taco soup on the stove now. Figured we could give it a try. I haven't had a problem eating healthier as long as I have the time to do it. My biggest problem right now is that I am just not hungry. I am making smarter choices, but I don't want to eat. I don't know if I should make myself eat more or not. I'm barely eating half of my points... What to do?

Hello fellow "loosers", My team leader says if you are not hungry and you still have points left it is okay not to use them. But don't starve. If you deprive yourself now you might go crazy and binge later. We know that is not good for weight loss. paride55

Hi fellow CC "losers"! I am joining the thread here. I have been going to WW for a while now and am starting to slowly lose...not fast enough for me of course...with up coming trip looming...But it's going in the right direction. I am concentrating on exercise and getting in the best shape i can ...and then continuing on with WW of course after the trip. I want to be able to participate as much as possible in activities of the trip. Along with Glapagos Islands we are also doing an add-on to Cusco and Machu Picchu. (Boy finding plus size zip-off-below- the -knee cargo pants has been a challenge!). I am a good swimmer so I have been swimming and doing eliptical and weights along with walking for the past year pretty regular. I will catch up on these boards and will use them for support..Cruisy.

Heading on an all girls 30's cruise in October and want to lose some of this extra weight by then!!! My goal is 25lbs, so at least 1lb per week... Started exercising regularly about 2 months ago, but have now officially restarted WW this week! My 2nd weigh in is today...

Okay,okay...count me in. I have struggled with my weight most of my adult life. was always a normal weight until I had kids...but they are adopted so I can't even use the excuse of "baby weight"!!

I'm a member of WW, but have not been following the program. This thread has piqued my motivation. I WILL weigh in on Friday and start anew. I have a Florida vacation and an August cruise to look forward to so I better get serious. Thanks for the push and I will post and read often.

Hello! Newbie here. My name is R3D0P, I am a 30 year old male, and I enjoy good food that is bad for you :).

In high school, I was very athletic and play multiple sports, so weight was never an issue. Once I graduated, the activity stopped and the weight came on, to the tune of 100 pounds over 10 years. I have attempted to lose the weight many times in the past, but has been unsuccessful. I have attempted Weight Watchers before, but usually fall off the wagon a few weeks in, where then I gain everything I lost back. I rejoined Weight Watchers again yesterday. I have an upcoming cruise in September that I plan to use as motivation to lose weight. Also, I am tired of going to the store and not finding clothes that I like in 3x-4x sizes.

My current/starting weight is 307.5 pounds. My weekly goal is to lose 2.5 pounds a week. My short term goal is to lose 25 pounds by June 19. My intermediate goal is to lose 50 pounds by my cruise on September 11. My ultimate goal is to lose 107 pounds in one year. My weigh-in day is Sunday, but I will see this forum has a weigh-in thread on Thursday that I would also like to participate in.

I hope to gain motivation from others and provide it as well.

I find that I have a couple of days every other week that I just don't want to track! I think it mostly comes down to poor planning. Ugh. Like today. I had oatmeal for breakfast, a big salad for lunch, about 5 small pretzels. Then I was hungry when I got home so I had some cheese and crackers... I should have just made dinner. I'm not over points or anything, but I really shouldn't have had the snack when I did. So now I am not hungry, but I will be before bed and that is my weak time! I love to have ice cream before bed. Erf.

  • 2 weeks later...

I was down again this week, not much, just .2 lbs, but better then the other way.

Didn't go to weight watchers for 2 weeks in a row, had a job interview one week and on vacation last week, so I am pleased with any loss.

I never noticed the "lose before you cruise" forum before. This is awesome!

I'm Julie. I'm 31, 5’3” and have been overweight for as long as I can remember. I started WW online on Jan 17th (the day after my 31st birthday) The first couple of weeks were tough but I think I've got the hang of it now. My fiance and I have been engaged for almost 5 years but I'd been avoiding actually setting a date because I couldn’t bear the thought of putting on a big white (eek!) dress. 3 months after starting WW I was down almost 30lbs and we booked our wedding cruise! I’m not losing as quickly as I was before and there’s a week every month when I don’t lose an ounce (guess which one...) but I’m still happy with the results.

I’m glad I finally found this forum/ thread!

Well I gained 1.6 lbs this week. Not really too surprised. I have not been sticking to the program this week with Mothers Day etc. This is only the 3rd time I've had a gain in 6 months, so really not bad.

Oh well, tomorrow is a new day.

Just posted on the general 'lose before you cruise' before I found this subject. I just joined WW online today- cruise is in 6 months and I need to lose 20#. And this isn't my first rodeo- first time on WW, I lost 46#. Second time 20# and stayed down for years, even worked as a receptionist/weigh-in clerk for a couple of years. Time marches on and so does the weight! I'm 60 now (at 171#) and the weight doesn't come off as easily. Lost 20# last year only to gain back 8 recently.

Hope to find people for mutual support that love cruising!

Soooooo glad to see this! I just joined WW 3+ weeks ago. I'm in the middle of the 4th week and there's already 9.3 pounds less of me. Love how do-able WW is! Anyway, I just found out that we are having the best family reunion ever on RC's Oasis of the Seas! I'm 35 and love to travel but just got brave enough to start crusing about a year and a half ago. Our first cruise was on RC's Freedom of the Seas in 2010 and we recently went on Norwegian's Epic. Now? I am addicted! It's always been just me and my husband only so this is the first crusie we're taking the kids (ages 5 and 7) on. I digress. Our cruise isn't for another 10 months but I think I already need to start getting tips and planning on how I'm going to use my points on that cruise. I've never really had any issues fitting workouts in vacation time; it's the buffets and the wine and the desserts and the wine and the midnight snacks and the wine that are the killers! Did I mention the wine? :) I just joined Cruise Critic but I'm eager to read through some of these posts and swap some tips & tricks of surviving a cruise while on WW.

Greeting JKLC600!

I'm not even thinking of tracking my points on the cruise, I'm just losing so I'll have some wiggle room and then I'll get back to tracking afterwards!

I know how you feel about getting addicted to cruising. I'm counting the days until we leave again. Gotta win the lotto so I can quit my job, find a good pet sitter and book an around the world cruise.

Enjoy Cruise Critics, it's a super great place to meet other cruise addicts!

Just got back from one vacation and woohoo, happy dance, I actually lost weight. For not being on a cruise, we still ate huge meals. Good thing the hotel was a brisk ten minute walk each way on the skywalk to the convention center. Going to see my primary care doc tomorrow for the first time since I started losing. She's going to be so proud of me. Two months before I see the liver specialist and he isn't going to recognize me.:D

So I've been on WW since Jan 19 and I've lost about 35lbs so far with about 12-15 to go. (I'd like to be 125 but I'll settle for 127/128. Currently I'm at 139.8) It seems like I'm not losing nearly as quickly now. Even though I'm not really doing anything differently.

They've never changed my points goal and I can't see why the plan doesn't adjust as you lose. Shouldn't someone at 175lbs need more than someone at 139?

I'm thinking about using less of my weekly points but am having a hard time motivating myself to do it. I do like my slice or 2 of pizza on Friday nights and a couple rum and diet cokes now and again. I think part of why I've hung in this long is that those things aren't forbidden like they are on the South Beach which worked for me but I was miserable while adhering to it.

Anyway, my question is; has anyone else experienced this? Any tips?

My name is Annemarie, I just turned 50 and started menopause around January. I just re-joined WW last week (I lost 50# last year doing it on-line). I have been successful at a lot in my life except this one area.

When my husband and I met 27 years ago, I was a bit heavy and I would be happy to get to that weight again.

We are cruising in January with my in-laws and it would be nice to surprise them with a thinner me.

Welcome, Annemarie!

You can do it again. I lost 46# the first time on WW, the next time I had to lose 20 but I kept it off long enough to get a job with WW as receptionist and weigh-in clerk. Had to stay in maintenance mode for the 5 yrs I worked for them but then slowly put it back on and MORE. I lost 20 on my own last year but put half of that back.... so here I go again.

I really like WW online with the iPhone app. So far it's been really easy to stay on points.... but it's only been 10 days.

We cruise in November and my grown kids and sister will hopefully be coming along and the last time they saw me I was a lot heavier- so I gotta do this!

Keep coming back for support.

Hello Everyone, I just remotivated myself. Besides health reasons why I joined WW. I'm on the CORAL PRINCESS late this summer. I've been doing okay with WW. But lately I had lost my excitement or passion do keep going. But this afternoon I have been looking at pictures of the interior of the CORAL P. that others have posted on the web. Aslo looking at the ship's web cam. On the cruise when it happens I plan on maintaining. Try to stay active as much as I can. paride55

Just went back to WW last Friday after going-off-plan about a year ago. I was a lifetime at goal and gained it all back plus interest. Went back to discover the new Points-Plus plan. I am trying to get used to having 29 pts. -vs- the 18 I had on the old plan. I have only been on the plan less than a week and have not used all 29 pts any one day. I have come close but I'm just not hungry and don't want to eat just to get my points in. I think a lot of it has to do with not having to count the fruits and most veggies hence the extra points at the end of the day. The good thing about this plan is that I now have enough points to use for an occasional glass of wine or an ice-cream cone without having to dig into my bonus points allowance. I am liking the plan so far.

In addition, I am foutunate to have a great WW leader and group and find that it is the meetings that help keep me accountable. When I hit goal last time, I started slacking off on my meetings, going from once a week to only once a month for my LT weigh-in. Everyone is different, but I think for me, I really do need that one hour per week for just me.

My weigh-in is on Friday, I will post my stats then.

I've been staying within my points but I went up this last week. I know that I need to get more exercise but I'm just too lazy... I've already broken my promise to myself to hit the elliptical trainer every day to work up my endurance. We put up an above ground pool in the back yard and I spent a lot of time doing some water exercises this weekend- so at least I've done something. Plus I washed my car which I'm sure burned some points.
