Hi everyone.

Well my first happy dance tonight is that the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Detroit Red Wings to force a game seven in the Stanley Cup!! Yippee!! Can you tell I'm a Penguins fan?

Also doing happy dances for Denise- 3 pounds is awesome and Misty- 2.6 is also awesome. Congratulations to you both.

I did go for a walk tonight, it is election day in Nova Scotia and I went with my daughter to vote, she drove the car home and I walked. Then I watched the hockey game. I am supposed to go to Girl Guide camp this weekend and game 7 is Friday night, I have to figure something out with that. I guess I'll go and help set everything up and then come home to watch the game and then go back. I am looking after the Sparks (the 5-6 year olds) and they aren't coming until Saturday morning anyway.

Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow Judi, and anyone else who weighs in on Wednesday!

Good night to all.

Misty, wayyy tooo goooo!!! You must be thrilled. 20 lbs is a significant amount of weight loss.

LOL Susan, I love hockey too but only when I can go to the games. Good luck to your penguins.

I'm actually looking forward to weigh in on Friday a.m. but when I feel like I had a fab week then I end up with a tiny loss or nothing at all.

I am in cruise mode. I don't know how I'm going to make it until November. I am thinking of booking a cruise critic cruise though for next year and take advantage of the 25.00 deposit. I wish we lived closer to more ports so airfare isn't a factor. Jacksonville and Charleston are the closest for us. We could get to Tampa in about 8-10 hours but the cruises are so limited out of those ports.

Good morning all,

Tonight is weigh in. I'm ready for it.....I had 2 not so good meals this week. Last Saturday at my bookclub meeting and Tuesday we went to a buffet at the casino we went to. I tried to make some good choices but really didn't count the points. I went right back on track so hopefully I didn't do too much damage. I have a physical therapy appointment right before WW so maybe that will help! LOL

Thank you, thank you!!! All my happy dancing for you gals resulted in a one pound loss for me this week....Every weigh in I promise myself that I'm gonna do so much better the next week and I end up sweating it out that I haven't been good enough because I cheat so very much...I have to stay away from Goober peanut butter even if it is on WW bread!! I seem to have been substituting that for my candy fix because it sounds like it should be more healthy!!(240 cals, 13 fat and no fiber...eeek 6 points per serving, but I only do a half of serving!!! still too much) I need a better candy substitute...any suggestions? Had Juvederm injection yesterday as a reward for my 25 pounds gone...Since I'm 61 and of course you can see in my face that I have lost weight, those creases from your nose to your lips get more pronounced...if I pull my face back I look great...so instead of a face lift I had the injections and I am so pleased!!!! Those folds are gone....now those ladies at the Country Club can't say, "Oh you've lost weight, I can see it in your face"!!! I'm doing a happy dance for everyone's weight loss and my fold loss!! Yippee:D

I've lost 32 pounds on WW, and last week was 12 pounds from goal. I weigh in later today. It's just over two weeks until we leave for our first cruise . . . don't know how I'll handle all the food available all the time. . . I guess just repeating, "I don't have to eat it all, I don't have to eat it all." ;~) I may take my little Hungry doll along to help as an anchor . . . pun intended.

What suggestions do you have for me?

I have finally reached my goal weight, took me about a year and a half. I have been on three cruises while on WW. My trick was to eat a larger breakfast and eat small snacks throughout the day. At dinner I was not not super hungry and that seemed to work. I did skip dessert on most nights and only picked one night and splurged on it. I also was careful with beverages, I had 2 martinis but stuck to diet soda with vodka or rum the rest of the cruise. I gained maybe 1.5lbs on each cruise but within the week I lost it when I came home. Two of the cruises were 12 days and 15 days.

Judi,

Try the WW peanut butter cups. Only 2 points and they help with the candy fix. I find Walmart is the cheapest.

I know WW also sells peanut butter bars of some sort.

Hi all,

I'm happy to say that I lost another pound this week. This is great since I wasn't sure how I did this week. I think the physical therapy might be helping too. I was on the stationary bike twice this week for 4 minutes at a time. For me, that is fantastic! So now I am down 10 lbs.WOO HOO!

YAY!! Now it's our turn to do a happy dance for you!! :) For a candy fix I like the one point bars that WW sells in the meetings. Also, Hershey's makes several of their candy bars in 100 cal versions. I love the dark chocolate one and it's only 2 points. Hopefully one of those will help.

I don't really have much to suggest, I haven't had to tackle a cruise on WW yet. Just remember that no matter what happens, the cruise is temporary and make sure to at least get back on track when you get home. My WW leader is going on a cruise this week and she said that she has a friend that will drag her to the workout room to do her workouts even on the boat. She also said that she plans to eat a healthy Breakfast & lunch but allow herself to splurge on dinner. She doesn't want to restrict herself too much since there are a lot of foods to enjoy on a cruise that she may not normally eat on a regular basis. Gee...I guess I had more to say than I thought. :o

I realized that I gave you suggestions on getting a candy fix, but I didn't really mention the peanut butter. If you really want the peanut butter you could find a way to fit it into your program. A peanut butter sandwich really isn't a bad breakfast. It has a good balance of protein and carbs to get your day going. BUT, if you're trying to substitute the peanut butter for candy that you're really craving and eat too much of it because the craving isn't really satisfied, then by all means, find yourself a candy that does the trick. :D

How true. Some weeks its feels like that. As long as the net result is a lose I'll take it.

Hello all. I am a relatively new cruiser (We took our first last year) who just booked a July 2010 cruise. I am not new to WW; I lost almost 50 lbs last year and then gained it back while dealing with prolonged illness and ultimate death of both my MIL and grandmother. I am hoping to get back on the bandwagon and lose quite a bit between now and my cruise. I was looking for inspiration and support and stumbled upon this board. Can I join in?

Hi new WW friends (your names?)

Glad you found us. This is a great group of people just here to help each other out. Exactly what we need when we are trying to lose weight.

I am Sheryl and have lost 10 pounds in 6 weeks. I have so much to lose but am taking it one day at a time. Between my meetings and this thread, I know I will succeed!

Good luck to you both!

Hi New People!!!! Welcome!!!! I'm Judi and I'm here to tell you it is a long hard road, but between the meetings and the girls here you will have no choice but to "make it". My Journey started the first week of Feb. and I'm struggling with my sweet tooth the entire way...maybe after a year or so I won't crave the stuff, and it has gotten better....but weight lose is not a walk in the park. I am down 26 pounds and have ten more to go then I have the dreaded maintenance!!! If you go back and read our posts, you will find many great tips and websites to help in your struggle...If you have questions or problems, we are the ones to come to....One thing I have learned is to change my eating habits..I guess we all have to otherwise we wouldn't be here..It does get easier over time...:p We have had posters that have even gone on cruises (one was 14 days) and not gain weight!!! Welcome, and I look forward to learning more about you.

Welcome to the new posters.

This forum is friendly and helpful. Come back often.

Today I went to a chicken barbecue at church. Not easy. I had some chicken, brought most of it home, very little and I mean little, potato salad and coleslaw, baked beans, roll, watermelon, corn and I had to eat the brownie. :D

I personally didn't choose the roll, corn and brownie, my DH did, it came with the meal. Sometimes I think he's out to sabotage me. I know I didn't have to eat the brownie.

I fit everything into my points but used up most of daily allowance. For dinner I had a bocca burger.

I really wish there had been a green salad option. I would have been fine with that.

Thursday brings another barbecue but I am bringing the green salad.:)

Thanks for listening.

Hey Denise, I went to a bar-b-que yesterday. Something to honor Jefferson Davis or Miles Davis, anyway it was at our local cemetery for the Confederate Soldiers and they had Southern things...pulled smoked pork with a gravy, baked beans, potato salad, fried corn bread and brownies. I'm actually from Chicago, so this southern food does nothing for me, so problem solved, I ate the brownie!!!!

Good luck this week everyone!!!!!
