Dining Options on the Sky

OK...I understand the whole free style thing...but what exactly are our options for dining on the Sky????

In the past on other cruise lines, we ate at the buffets for breakfast and lunch and then the dining room at our scheduled times for dinner. We have never cruised before on ships with premium choices like Cagney's etc...

Are all the specialty eateries open for breakfast & lunch? Is there a charge for breakfast or lunch? Does anyone know what they serve vs. the dining rooms for breakfast & lunch? We usually opted for the buffets previously because of the time factor so how long does it take to complete a meal at the non buffet places?

As you can tell, I'm mostly worried about the food!!!!:p:p:p

Are all the specialty eateries open for breakfast & lunch? No - although for suite passengers, Cagney's typically is. Is there a charge for breakfast or lunch? Breakfast - 45 minutes ; Lunch 45-60 min -- Dinner 1.5 hours or more (depends on how many courses you order -- 5 courses can take a while)

Here is a link to menus from the Jade -- probably the same for the Sky, but the names are different. No Blue Lagoon on the Sky.

The speciality restaurants for breakfast and lunch are for suite passengers only. It takes about an hour or so to dine there for breakfast and lunch, similar to a dining room. The menu will be similar as the main dining rooms.

Dining during dinner will take two hours in a main dinning room, similar with speciality restaurants. You want something fast, go to the buffet.

Il Adagio (the Italian pay restaurant) is open for omelettes and waffles during breakfast and pizza and pasta during lunch....no charge for breakfast and lunch.

The great outdoors buffet is open all night and serves hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, snacks, etc. You go through the last doors towards the aft and it's under cover there.

Also at around 11 or 11:30 p.m. they bring snacks into the casino and set it up by the bar....finger sandwiches, fruit and dessert type thing.

Cagney's was wonderful....best milet mignon I'd ever tasted but the $25 extra charge is a little steep.

At breakfast in Il Adagio and LongBoard they will have omelet and waffle stations set up. At least for the first couple of days, very few people know about it and you can get a nice breakfast quickly! At lunch in Il Adagio they set up pasta and pizza stations, and these are also not too busy. They are both adjacent to the buffet area, so you can get other stuff easily.

Breakfast in the Palace DR was nothing to write home about, and took about 45 minutes. Don't forget, you also have room service as an option, although very limited. Awesome cinnamon buns though, and very prompt service!

After 6pm (I think it's 6) LongBoard has a menu the same as Blue Lagoon on the menu bakerintn kindly posted the link for.

For a short cruise there are plenty of options.

We got bagels and lox (w. all the trimmings), great fresh fruit, and coffee for rm. service breakfast every morning! Yum
