can anyone tell me how much it costs to rent a clam shell in HMC? I burn if I even think about the sun, so I'd like the extra protection.

It was $15 this past November.

Some people find the clamshells to hold in the heat. If you're uncomfortable, walk further down the beach to shaded areas. We were near the yellow cabana and in the shade all day. You could put your clamshell in the shade for extra protection and cooler temps. Have fun. This was my favorite stop on our cruise. It is a tendering process, so be patient. The tendering is the worst part, but so worth it.

I also heard it does get very warm in the clamshells - there is definitely shade on the beach and you can pull you chairs under some of the trees further down the beach!

Why not take the first tender over and grab a hammock in the shaded area? FREE!

If it gets too hot in the clamshell use something to prop up the back 6-10 inches. Allows for some ventilation.
