Rare finoky Posted March 14, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2009 Was wondering if it's possible to be dropped off right in front of the terminal on Waterside Drive. We are having a friend take us over so we don't have to leave our car there for 9 days. Thanks in advance.
yvogarden Posted March 15, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 15, 2009 Yes! That seems like the BEST way to do it. I think there is a little circular drive for drop off right in front of the terminal. The offsite parking provided by the city/port is an awful, crazy mess, and parking downtown is convenient, but expensive. The 2 times I've sailed out of of Norfolk I've had my car, and I envied the cruisers that were being dropped off. Maybe someone that has tried the drop off can say for sure, but it has to be better than parking! Good luck!
GrannyMouse Posted March 15, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 15, 2009 My daughter dropped us off and then picked us up at the end of the cruise from Norfolk. It was a snap. No problems at all. We arrived early to avoid the rush.

greatdanemom Posted March 16, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 16, 2009 Just wanted to agree with previous posters. Norfolk is super easy with a drop-off. We've done it twice. The driver pulls into the circle and you can hop out right there just a few feet away from the steps leading into the terminal. Porters are there to take your bags and the police direct you in and out. It just doesn't get any easier than that. Enjoy your cruise!
careywv Posted March 16, 2009 #6 Share Posted March 16, 2009 If we ever cruise out of Norfolk again, we will be dropped off. Parking was a mess and hard to find, and then you have to wait for the buses to fill before you go. Plus the porter wouldn't even touch our bags until we gave him our tip. Not that I'm cheap or anything, but I thought you tip after service...LOL
