Rhapsody Royal Suite

trouvaille

Recommended Posts

We are planning a trip for fall of '05 with our nephew & his wife. Looking at room arrangements, I was wondering if booking the Royal Suite for the four of us might be better than two separate suites. Last time we sailed together we booked a Grand and a Junior but spent most of the time in the same room. They are a young couple and none of us would mind sharing a room, in fact, it would be fun staying together. I know on the other class ships there are some additional perks to the Royal Suite. It seems I read something about drinks included and other things on a recent thread. I know that different ship classes offer different amenities and just wondering if anyone knew about those on the Rhapsody Royal Suite. Thanks!

I have stayed in the Royal Suite two times on Rhapsod and I am staying there again on the January 23rd sailing next month. I love it!!! The room is very large and the bathroom is also nice and big. There is plenty of storage space in the closet as well as a closet in the bathroom. Both times I have stayed in the cabin there have been four of us and we have never felt crowded. The bathroom is divided into two spaces. One has the sink, shower, and tub. Then there is a door you can close off to the toilet and bidet.

All of the alcohol in your room is free. It does come with a fully stocked bar. We would fill up our drinks and then walk around the ship and go to the shows and casino with our alcohol from our room in hand and no one ever said anything.

The balcony is definately large and there is plenty of room to spread out. On our past two cruises we have actually had a party on the last night and we have had as many as 35 people in the suite. (I actually counted heads when the party was in full swing). We had two cocktail trays sent to our room and asked for a bartender and Royal Caribbean sent them to us for free, although we did tip the bartender very well afterwards and we set up a tip jar for him also. He had a great time.

We also were given four robes to take home with us. We thought they were only for us to use on the ship, but our cabin steward told us to take them because they were included with the suite and we were never charged for them.

If you have any other questions, please let me know. I love to talk about cruising. bosco23@aol.com

We stayed in the cabin below the Royal Suite last week and the noise from above was terrible at times. I think there were two families with several young children up there. We could hear yelling, screaming, loud piano playing, and banging SO LOUD on our ceiling, we thought they might come through it. 4_2_200v.gif It went on every afternoon when we were trying to nap and every night till after midnight. Very inconsiderate.

If you plan to party or if you have children, please remember that the passengers below you also paid good money for their cruise and might want to enjoy the quiet and comfort of their cabin and balcony. 36_1_50.gif

Thanks in advance for whoever is below you...

I will be in the RS in March. At the moment we have four booked in there. Myself, DH, & 2 children.

I need to book a 5th person...an adult child. (TA says they can bring in a rollaway and accomodate a 5th person in the RS.)

Having stayed in a RS....what do you think about the 5th person in there?

Also, I had a thought....for not much more of a price difference, I can pull one child out of the RS...and put her in an inside cabin on the same deck...with the adult child.

So, all of the soda in the suite was free, as well?

What exactly is a "stocked bar"? Is it the little bottles of alcohol? Any wine?

Your thoughts would be appreciated. ;)

Sorry I have not responded as quickly, I just started a new job and have been out of town. I think it is fine to have a fifth person in the cabin. We have four adults stay in the cabin and we are not crowded at all. We bring in two rollaways because they are more comfortable then the fold out couch.

I can't remember if soft drinks were free in our cabin, but alcohol was. They asked us what kind of alcohol we wanted in the suite and they sent over the full size bottles. No small ones. I will check next week on the soda and wine because I will be boarding Rhapsody on Sunday the 23rd for another trip in the Royal Suite.

Only Three more days!!!!

Thanks for your response!

My three extra in the RS are ages 8, 12 & 21. Probably two would do fine on the sofa bed?....or do you think 2 rollaways for us?

Well, you have yourself a great time on the Rhapsody.

I want to hear all about that RS...when you get back!!! Every detail. :D

Would they bring you wine?

We don't hardly drink @ all....but wine every now and then is always nice. I like wine coolers, too.

Thanks!

Boo,

I think the younger ones will be fine on the fold out couch and the 21 year old would probably prefer a roll away. I will check on the wine for you on Sunday. I can't believe I leave the day after tomorrow. I will definately let you know how it went and give you all of the details when I return.

I like wine coolers also, so I might ask if it's possible for us to have some in our cabin.

Take care and I will write again after the 30th when I return.
