Are you planning your day around lunch, so will go wherever or are you looking for something close to whatever else you have planned for the day? If trying to incorporate with plans then what are they, what area of island? Also what do you consider cheap? ;)

Hello fellow St. Louisan, Fungi's if I remember correctly is pretty cheap and is right on the water. It's down the hill from Point Pleasant resort, not real fancy but we always liked what we ate there. Another place we liked right on the beach at Secret Harbour is called Blue Moon cafe.

Ditto for Fungi's and also for Iggies at Bolongo Bay. You can also look into Robert's and Ainsley's at Cowpet Beach, one a bit more casual than the other but they are very close to each other so if you decided to go there you could take a look at both menus and then decide.

Closer to Havensight are the restaurants closer to Crown Bay like the one at Best Western Emerald Beach and Island Beachcomber. They're right on Lindbergh Bay, and are in your price range. Don't remember any seafood for lunch on either menu, though, but that doesn't mean they don't have any.

We are on the Glory in April and not sure where we will dock- want to go to a nice beach where we can rent chairs and umbrellas - eat and drink not spending our kids inheritance. Any great suggestions? Also what is the cheapest and easiest way to get to the beach. Have heard talk of Saphire Beach, Coki Beach and Meagans Bay. Need advice.

Sunny Az Girl - can't think of any Puerto Rican restaurants in the Sapphire/Red Hook area. There is a Mexican place called Carmen's at Pavilions and Pools (a short taxi ride from Sapphire) and there is another one called Amigos in Red Hook (again a short taxi ride).

Sunlover - Glory usually docks in Havensight. Most beach have chairs available for rent, umbrellas not so much. Coki, Morningstar and Emerald have umbrellas for rent. Others you can grab some natural shade under the tree line. Some of the resorts have umbrellas but they are for guests. Try a beach guide for photos and information and see if that helps you narrow down which one is a good match for what you are looking for: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=st.+thomas+beach+guide&aq=f&oq=.

Islander,

We went to Elysian Resort/Cowpet beach when on Caribbean Princess two years ago. We liked it quite a bit, although the beach area is relatively small. We ordered lunch at the beach front restaurant/bar and took it on the beach to our chairs. I recall there were chairs on the beach, and we were allowed to use them gratis.

How would you compare Secret Harbor to Cowpet? It appears a bit bigger. Is there a bar/restaurant we can take food out to while enjoying the beach? Are beach chairs available?

I'm guessing the time/distance from Crown Bay is about the same.

Thank you in advance!
