Pier Coordinator and upgrade question

Assuming there are any available cabins, is the Pier Coordinator able to tell you what cabins are available and the location, and you can decide specificially which one you want? Or is it you get what you get?

Here is a thread that was discussing this subject the other night. One of the posters on it is a Pier Coordinator. ;)

She is cruiseloverandagent and she is a pier coordinator in Galveston.
